Delta

Date of Birth: 4/11/2024
Breed: Dutch Shepherd
Breeder (if available): Vrijheid's Dutch Shepherds
Bio: From Delta's New Human
My first service dog was supposed to be a sport dog, but she preferred gluten detection. She taught me so much about detection training, and we traveled all over the country together. When she passed I was devastated and didn't think I'd ever find another dog like her.
I eventually wrote a long list of what I was looking for in my next service dog, and hoped to find a dog with most of those qualities. Delta is absolutely everything I was hoping to find. As soon as I met her I knew she was going to be my next service dog, and she felt the same way. I am so lucky to have her, and it's been great getting started with her gluten detection training so quickly and skipping the puppy stage. She's already got amazing manners and adjusted to city dog life almost instantly.
Having a fully trained service dog in months instead of years is amazing and life changing for me because I travel frequently to conferences. I've missed half a conference because of cross contamination at a restaurant that had supposedly gluten free food. Once I finish Delta's training I won't feel like I'm risking my health every time I enter a restaurant.
